Nah, they're just easier than most other mimics.
It surprised me as a kid to discover that a Pokeball is actually a Voltorb/Electrode, and I caught them the first time. They're more lenient, but lenient isn't bad.

I can agree. While there are some I just don't like (Jynx, Spearow, Chansey), I can't necessarily say I hate them. Gen 1 has my favorite selection of designs and I've played every gen. Sandslash is my favorite boy.

Ironically gen 1 designs are generally the ones I avoid the most since I've seen them many times over and over again. In fact, I generally prefer Pokemon from gen 2 onwards. There's definitely gen 1 mons that have a special place in my heart like Gengar though.
