>>39261568I didn't finish moon, but I just finished ultra Moon and I loved it.
+Between dex descriptions, signature moves/abilities and environmental storytelling, new Gen mons had a lot more character and I had trouble deciding which of them to put on my team.
+A couple of totem boss fights were legitimately difficult. The game as a whole wasn't super hard, but a bit harder than an average Pokémon game.
+The battle tree, ultra space encounters and battle royal arena offer a decent amount of supplementary content.
+Ride Pokémon are a welcome change of pace from HMs
+Team skull is my favorite written team to date.
-I'm not a fan of how they changed Lusamine's story line from the first game.
-The hardware suffers a lot. I experienced a few slowdowns even in single battles, and some larger areas were stained for me by the really low pop in distance.
-Character customization is frustratingly limited. There are no long pants.
-While the gameplay for the battle facilities is fun, my enjoyment with the Battle Royal is significantly hampered by a ~15 second unskippable animation. This is far more frustrating to me than the story cutscene, which are novel in a Pokémon game.
-Rotomdex constantly asking if you want to save/heal is annoying, but it doesn't interrupt the gameplay meaningfully.
Overall, Ultra Moon is a flawed game, but if you enjoy Pokémon games I'd recommend it. It's probably around 4 or 5 in my rankings.
