>>39262304I wouldn't really call it M18, but I've kicked around this idea a bit back about how I would do (yet another) kanto reboot if I had the unlimited authority, resources, ability, and time that would cover somewhat mature themes and "deepest lores" bullshit that I have an onionboy hardon for.
basically a lot of story stuff like Giovanni had Brock's father iced because Brock's old man was keeping Giovanni from redeveloping Pewter City, more than half the gym leaders being corrupt/compromised by Team Rocket, a few actual attempts to just kill the player character.
Basically a lot of the dark stuff ties to Team Rocket really, the rest is just meant to be bittersweet. Stuff like, Surge only accepted Team Rocket's offer because he and his men were stranded after the war and they needed work, Sabrina's parents gave her up to Giovanni because she scared them and Sabrina has no understanding what they're doing is wrong, Koga needed funding to keep his family's legacy gym/dojo running and keep his art alive.
And a lot of the dark stuff would get cleared up if you throw yourself into the Team Rocket plot as you work with Lance, Brock, Misty, and Erika to redeem the Kanto League and the region itself, culminating to capturing Mewtwo via dialogue option check than a battle (both to free up the masterball but also because as a post-game legendary, it's supposed to show how as a trainer you can even reach out to pokemon without fighting).I guess I'd throw in a chance to woo Misty, Sabrina, Erika, and Janine. (Brock, Surge, Lance, and Bill if you're a girl)
