It's not that we don't want to have a new journey with new Pokemon. It's that the Pokemon data themselves are not in the game.
In past games like Black and White, you start and finish the journey with 156 new Pokemon, but after that, you can transfer everyone from Gen I-IV with PokeTransfer.
Now, after finishing the main campaign you cannot transfer the ones NOT in the Galar region Pokedex.
We're not even that mad that the national dex gets decimated. We're mad because this sets a precedent that if GF can successfully make a game with less content and people still buy it, they are going to keep cutting corners for future entries.
