>Gyms are Milo (Grass), Nessa (Water), Kabu (Fire), Opal (Dark), Rhoda (Rock), Loki and Cerm (Fairy and Poison), Myrtle (Dragon), and Rufus (Steel)
>Myrtle is the queen of Galar and mother of Marnie. Rufus is a historian and the estranged father of Bede
>The league takes place in the Victory Rose. Instead of an Elite Four, it's a large tournament of seven rounds. In each round you face four randomly selected type specialists and your rivals Hop, Bede, and Marnie in-between. Each round has you traverse a maze to find your entrance battling other trainers. The winner of the tournament then faces Leon in a championship title match
>Hop wants to stand on his own but is constantly babied by his brother who keeps helping him. It’s revealed that Leon rigged Hop's gym battles in his favor
>Leon turns out to be a fraud and in cahoots with Chairman Rose, who used his family’s influence to also have his battles rigged in his favor and doesn’t believe that true talent in battles exists. Your championship battle with Leon involves a forced lose before going on a mission to reveal the truth of the Pokemon League to Galar
>Bede is your second rival who steals your starter early on. Hop (who was given two starters by Leon) then offers you one of his to help get it back. Near the end of the game, you have the option to take your starter back or let him keep it after seeing the bond they developed
>Chairman Rose manages the Galar Pokemon League, and recently introduced Dynamaxing to the Pokemon League. He is immediately intrigued with your goal to get your starter back from Bede and establishes a “rivalry” to increase ratings
