This doesn't change anything, though. Game Freak really dropped the ball. It's because they insisted on going 3D, didn't think it through, and didn't even do it very well. Everything got smaller when they went 3D – the dex, the regions, the dungeons, everything. All those extra Pokemon models add up, and before you know it there's no room to have both them AND all the cool open world BotW stuff. Either that or the self-imposed global release schedule didn't give them enough time to figure it out. I bet it seemed like a good idea at the time.
