And you will realize that the tree in the famous screenshot has the same cellshade texture, but in lower res and that‘s why it looks so shitty. I don't know, the rocky models look so ugly, some element like the vines look like they are floating. It looks boring and the walking pokemon looks more like a pest to avoid rather than an exciting encounter.

typically a texture is the "skin" put on a 3d model, if a texture is applied incorrectly it may be stretched or it may tile, applying the texture for one of these smaller trees to a much larger tree in the wild area would be a boneheaded enough move to be worthy of criticism in and of itself, so I don't know how it functions as a defense of the game's graphics.

It's not even the same color.

Also why would the use the same texture in a tree with a different form? That would be like using a Dragonite texture in a Charizard.

Pokemon has really gone to shit, I'm really happy that Digimon seems to made a small resurgence in the west, Hopefully Survive is good, Story wasn't perfect but it was comfy, and the fact we even got a Digimon World game was nice, I hope they can perfect the style.

Breath of the Wild has some iffy textures, but they made the whole game cel shaded to make up for that, whereas in this game they’re only doing that with character and Pokémon models.

It’s just so disgusting to see that horrid grass texture during battles. Is it so much to put some actual grass there, to at least hide some faults. In Zelda, even when you chop down grass, there’s still tiny grass blades present to prevent the ground from looking like a blurry mess.
