For some reason in the originals, blue only had to beat the e4 to be champ, while red had to beat e4 and the champ (blue). Doesnt make full sense for that to be the case in the same game/location.
Furthermore, in cherens case there definitely is a champion to bear, which he did not. ie he was never champion.
Whether blue beat some unnamed champion before you is up to debate and im pretty curious about it actually
