Gen I and II starters were more bulky and round, relatively simple in design, and possessed simple and short limbs with little apparent dexterity on a large torso. Gen III's starters have a more graceful and dexterous anatomy possessing significantly more detail. These changes are apparently liked by a lot of Pokemon followers, including myself.
