>>39294380>slowly coming aroundIt's hard to tell. Sure, people have been bitching about the series since B/W I think, and then every installment has had its share of complaints, but the major complaint should be that not only it is for children, offering little for most adults, (really, nothing that I can comprehend beyond the post-game or battling other trainers, not that I personally like that or consider it good), and that it's still the same content. I can compare this to other series, (Animal Crossing, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash, etc.), especially by Nintendo that I think are inherently more appealing for adults, but also evolve far more with every entry.
Now, making games, especially Pokemon, is a business, and if it makes most financial sense to have this particular game this simple and this derivative, (perhaps because the simplicity of Pokemon is perfection when appealing to such a wide audience), I understand, but I don't get the appeal of continually playing game after game that are so similar to each other and so simple and largely unchallenging. Autism would explain it, but I would imagine most of the adults who play Pokemon are not literally autistic.
