He's literally a super compfag who mellows out after realizing he had a stick up his ass the entire duration of the story. That scene where he loses to you on the route before Victory Road then runs off pissed is excellent.
Honestly it's not even fair comparing Cheren to the others since he got two games to develop. He has all the good aspects of other rivals without being a total bitch like Hau or Serena, a complete edgelord like Silver or totally one dimensional like Barry, Blue and whoever else. His arc is way more gradual and slow burning which makes me appreciate how well he turned out in BW2 even more.
