Is it just me or did they improve the graphics? The background looks less like a paper cutout now.

It looks like when you bump up the resolution on a 6th gen game emulator. All the sprites & 2D assets look really awkward. But maybe it'll look better on the gamepad screen

There's a few small changes here and there from what I can see, like the added hill in place of the train in the background, and a few grass patches. Everything else is probably time-of-day stuff but the newer shot looks better

List of changes I can see:
>Changed colour palette
>Added trees
>Different sky texture
>Clocktower building looks separate from the rest of the buildings
>Back buildings are blurrier
It seems like they've bumped up the graphics just a little bit, but the lighting might be due to the time of day.

most notable changes:
>different color toning for the background
>better constrast/saturation (look at the flowers in the bushes)
>worst LODs? (distant trees look a lot less detailed, some distant chimneys also simplified)
>different map geometry (now there's a hill behind the fence on the left, right of the player's pokemon, and some new trees as well)
>a few more patches of grass here and there
>considerably better floor texture (maybe the tree meme will die in our lifetime)

I suppose that's a fault of whatever blurring effect they're using for the DoF
I'm pretty sure BoTW had a better use of the effect so it's not like the Switch can't handle it, but I guess Gamefreak can't handle the work required
