The decisions that consistently have made the Pokemon games worse have nothing to do with the overall monster designs. It's because corporate shitheel GameFreak wants to rush the games out as quickly as possible, and they have determined they will financially receive little to no blowback for their rushed trash. The reason they won't program all 800+ pre gen-8 Pokemon in Sword and Shield is because people with money told them they don't have to, and the time and effort to actually make it happen would be worse for them.
All these protests on Twitter and Reddit and whatnot will amount to absolutely nothing, because unless there's a massive, connected effort to ensure the game critically and commercially bomb, GameFreak, Nintendo, and TPCI will make huge bank off these games, their toys, the anime, and cards.
That's the real issue: there's no capitalist incentive to make the games good. But thinking critically about how the machinations of capitalism destroy art and entertainment would push you too close to thinking about shit that would make you uncomfortable and have you reconsider your worldview, so you instead decide to blame some guy who designed a Pokemon you don't like.
Grow up and learn shit already.
