Hi, I just bought a structure deck, started playing online, and what the fuck is wrong with this game? If I have to see this dumb little shit rip half of my hand before I can even play the game proper one more time I'm gonna bend this cardboard in half. Also am I just not gonna win without stacking my deck with GX Pokemon?

Do people actually say these things? Just coming from other card games, I know how strong it can be to dump opponents cards and interfere with searches, especially for what is practically no cost.

yeah people try and say all the time that if you just play generic meta deck you will absolutely never ever get hit with let loose and go into 5 cards that don't do anything together
like there's some hidden code that checks for your deck containing GXes and then makes sure to give you an even mix of all-purpose cards

Anyway, for playing online:
1. Buy theme deck
2. Play in theme deck format
3. Enter Theme deck tournaments with tickets to win packs
4. Do not open packs, trade them for the cards you want to make a real deck with
5. Make real deck

yes, you need it to basically make everything that doesn't mind about getting abilities on field be able to consistently run.

Tried to run an Incineroar deck without Jirachis, holy shit, the inconsistency is unreal.

Which theme deck is best? I bought the physical Blastoise deck that just came out cus nostalgia and I wanted something to use with real life friends.

Charizard has a ton of momentum if you get the right cards. It's easy as fuck for anyone who doesn't know how to play to do well with it. Get a Nidoqueen on the field, keep it there, and win.

The Blasoise deck isn't bad. The Pidgey/Pidgeotto are good for drawing cards to set up your Golduck and Blastoise (which sets up Golduck). It's arguably not as braindead as the Charizard deck, though.

Glad to see some other players looking into playing, the TCG is really fun especially considering the state of the video games currently. Here recently me and my friends got out our old collections from base-neo era and started to learn how to play. I've gotta admit, it's a lot more wild than I had imagined it, honestly it could be the wildest era the game has ever seen!
I've started looking for decks to buy online, but all I can find now is information about this new cumdrop cake pokemon, I don't really get it. We're looking for some new decks to play, but they've gotta stay in the based-neo era. any recommendations?
