Make skipable cutscenes. By pressing Y rotom takes a pic at the momment and ending instantly the cutscene and putting the photo in a key item album. If you needed the info select the photo to replay the cutscene if you want

Get rid of obstacles

Replace the bottom screen with something other than Rotom. Just remove Rotom if you can and add a Town Map in.

Make it possible to skip cutscenes.

The story is so intertwined with progression that it would be a bitch to figure out. You'd have to rewrite the whole game.

No more version exclusive Trainers.

Every time I come up with something I think of five more things that should be changed. The games are just so flawed on a fundamental level that there's no way you can fix them without making an entirely new game.

Nothing can salvage those maps but just this would make the games far more enjoyable.
Also put Solrock/Lunatone in.

what i assume is possible with modding atm

>remove gyro controls (maybe bind them to a second analog stick in citra or something)
>more expressive protag
>maybe an actual shader

anything beyond that would be madness. gen 7 is just fundamentally fucked in so many ways that no simple tweaks or additions can unfuck it completely. best of luck

I'm not sure how possible it would be, but one thing I'd really like to see is making the second island a little more freeform in how the trials can be tackled. The totems are all levels 20-24 anyway, so allowing players to do Fire/Water/Grass trials in any order they want would be an amazing change if it could be pulled off. It might get a little awkward to handle with the cutscenes and map indicators, but it'd be a nice improvement.

The thing that made me enjoy Alola the least is how few Pokemon are available, so add more. Also, raise difficulty, add mega evolution from the start, ways to obtain hidden ability Pokemon.

I don't know the limits of what's possible in 3DS modding, but I'm pretty sure it's restrictive, so at the end of the day it'll still be Alola....so......good luck.

Reimplement following pokemon.
Exploring together with your bros is pretty much the only thing that would make nu-Pokemon worth something.
If I wanted the to experience the same generic pokeformula again I'd just go play BW2 or a Gen 3 hack instead.

The reason I want them in the main story is so that the UB invasion is an actual thing that happens and not a 30 second cutscene that gets resolved off screen. But maybe non-totem round 1, totem round 2

don't fall into max ev meme because this is the trick to balance stats to make pokemon as SET and for in game this is bullshit OP when you get full offensive mode
