What do you think about Takegarou's designs as a whole? I think her SM work was much better despite appreciating the fetish fuel this time around.

With the Aether foundation I think Takegarou did a fine job of giving them distinctive and memorable designs. With the gym leaders I’m not sure if she actually designed them or is just doing official artwork, but they are a bit underwhelming in my opinion. I do appreciate her attempts to make them distinctive though considering the outfit limitations.

Milo is just bad. I've seen Katanagatari and some of her art for other novels and none of her males have looked like that. Probably trying to force different body types since the outfits are being kept uniform sportswear.
Rest are fine but none are on the level of the Aether designs. Shyguy is the best one and fits right in with other ghost trainer designs like Acerola and Hex Maniac.

The only good one for SwSh is Allister, the rest are either ok or hot garbage. SM was top notch.

? Her art for both gens feature 2 brown people so far. She doesn't have any say over the other brown characters in Galar, blame James Turner for that. Also I think making Aether Foundation run by white people was intentional, it's literally located on an artificial island separated from the rest of Alola.

Not actually a stretch.
There's alot of white and asian people in Hawaii. It's like Australia, only 3% of the population are abbos, it's mostly whites. Meanwhile Europe welcome their muslim overlords with open arms, not to mention the UK's East India Company shipped alot of them there and had a steady stream of Indian immigrants for like 200 years

I like her stuff a lot too. I was used to everything she did being hyper stylized with a million colors so once she started designing for Pokemon I was surprised how clean and nice it was. Can't wait to see the rest of the gym leaders.
