Can we try to figure out WHY Game Freak even made the decision in the first place?
We know it's not a lot of work (from what we know, "copy and paste" isn't too far off from the amount of work they would actually need to do), and SURELY they would have known that the backlash would be strong.
So... why? Why would you cut an incredibly important feature that they KNOW would upset people if it was cut? It really does seem like it'd be maybe another week of work at worst, so why? It's like a kid doing homework. Obviously the kid doesn't want to do it because we're naturally lazy and shit but he does it anyway because he doesn't want to fail the course.
