I only excuse HGSS because you can't trade between Gen 2 and Gen 4, but you can trade between Gen 3 and Gen 6, and technically you can trade between Gen 4 and Gen 8, the Pokémon just have to be in the game. Yes it sucks that SwSh don't have all the Pokémon in the national dex, but releasing a DPPt remake isn't the best solution, just patch SwSh or make the national Pokémon available in the next game.
Oh, and the remakes will probably suck anyway.
