>>39330802>large interesting region,Sinnoh's design was mediocre at best. The constant backtracking, the bland visuals, the uninteresting towns. I'll have to find my album of comparisons between gen 4 and 5.
>good music, Depends on what you're going for. Gen 4 had a lot of slow, calm music that worked great for towns but routes? Battles? No. Gen 3 showed how much better the battling experience could be with intense suspense-building music, gen 4 just drops the ball hard. I want to be pumped to fight a gym leader, not be put to sleep!
>great mon designs Im assuming you're not referring to the baby evos and third evos from older mons because they're generally seen as unwelcome. Forgetting those, there's a very small number of original designs, almost all of which are okay, but nothing more.
>and characters. In gen 4? Huh? All the "good characters" you're probably thinking of are just reskinned versions of older ones with a tiny quirk added to make them seem unique. The evil team, Cynthia, and Rowan are all good examples.
>basically everything BW didn't haveBW had a far more diverse, visually pleasing, and overall more interesting region. That's silly. The characters are also original and the "antagonist" actually has depth.
>>39330828>Diamond and Pearl perfected the gameplay formulaHow? The only major change from gen 3 was the physical/special split, nearly every other aspect was either unchanged or straight up downgraded. The PS split was huge, I'll give you that, but what else was significantly improved? Both the overworld and battles are plagued with slowness, considering that's all the game is how is that "perfecting" anything?
>and Platinum fixed the common issues that those games hadDumb meme. Platinum did not make major improvements on the slowness except in surfing which is not that relevant. The music was also unchanged, the graphics, region design, story... no major improvements.
