The leak literally mentioned Cross Gens if that's what you're hung up on, and whilst not every Pokemon who could get one will they'll at least get some.

the sad part is jynx just needs a few small buffs here and there
even something like +20 base speed would dramatically improve jynx
sure it's physically frail but make it a little faster, MAYBE change an ability, and it'd be at least a viable mon
queenly majesty and even a slightly smaller base speed buff would help a lot

Consider this. Magmortar and Electivire have bsts of 540. If Jynx got a similar evolution, its base stat total would jump dramatically from its current which is 455.

The leak specifically said there will be evolutions. It mentioned them separately from Gigantamaxing. And given said leak has been proven correct by two separate trailers now, that means Farfetch'd evo at the very least is as good as confirmed.

At any rate, I still doubt a Jynx evolution. Nobody at Game Freak, Nintendo and TPCi want to open up that can of worms.

I would expect Lapras the most of all other gen 1 pokemon.

Not initially. In gen 1 and 2, Magmar, Jynx and Electabuzz were a trio of learning the elemental punches and having baby evolutions in gen 2.

With Mr. Mime getting a prevo and then a second typing in Gen 6, it became more of a counterpart to Jynx.

I was going to say "I'm sure it'll be fine, they'll just give them evolutions in gen 9" but now I realized the cut content bullshit means gen 9 will also be incredibly gimped if it even happens. GF also doesn't have a good track record with reusing old gimmicks and adding on to them.

This is really fucking sad, man. The more I think about it, the worse it looks. Gen 8 truly is the death of pokemon as we knew it.

Look at gen1 base stats.

Electabuzz and magmar were paired but not jinx.

Anyone that tries to make them a trio does so for the punches or the humanoid version of the birds but their BST is too different to be an actual intended trio, look it up.

The leak talked about an evolution for Farfetchd straight up called Sirfetchd. And it mentioned an evolution for Meowth that sounds like it's based on a cat hairball.
Presumably the latter is meant as a split evo for Meowth, a la Slowbro vs Slowking.
