Here's the thing: I want to buy SwSh as I really really like the new Pokemon. Wooloo and Alreamie are soo fucking cute and Glalar looks beautiful. I absolutely love the fact that there's both overworld Pokemon and random encounters.
But I can't monetarily support cut Pokemon, barebones N64 looking Wild Area, and reused character and battle animations.
These games are not the Pokemon games of my dreams. Nothing shown from SwSh left me in awe like when I first played Mario Odyssey or BotW. Those games showed how old IPs could evolve and become something greater. You could feel every ounce of the love the devs poured into those games. They have fucking soul. I don't get that sense of evolution, love, or soul from SwSh at all.
It just feels like Game Freak doesn't love Pokemon? If I worked at Game Freak, I'd unironically work for free to give fans everything they've ever wanted and more, because I'd be one of those fans. These are the first mainline Pokemon games, and this is the best they could do with all the money TCPi has at their disposal?
I feel so let down and disappointed, but I really want to own an Alcreamie and Wooloo.
