N64-tier graphics would be fine if they weren't also using the amount of work involved in modeling and animating hundreds of pokemon and an expansive open world as an excuse to cut content and features, especially considering that 809 of said pokemon models already existed and were specifically made extra good so that they could just be ported over to save work on future games.

I genuinely don't give a shit what pokemon's graphics look like at all. I DO give a shit that they're locking hundreds of pokemon out of the new games under the excuse that it was for the sake of other areas, such as graphics, when those graphics are demonstrably lazy. That's the issue. If they were going to sacrifice a chunk of the pokedex, literally the entire fucking point of the series, then those graphics damn well should have been mind-blowing to justify it.

This, either just copypaste the 3DS models, stats, animations etc as you've been doing but with every single pokémon, or actually show that cutting those pokémon improved the quality of the game.
So far they just cut the pokémon AND copypasted the remaining ones with no changes.

The real issue is a perceived lack of progress.
