What disappoints me most of all about LGPE is that it was a chance to do a reboot and retell Kanto's story with all the lore and mythology that the series had gained in the 20 years since Gen 1. Hell, even something as different as LGE being from Blue's standpoint, or giving Giovanni additional backstory and explaining his relationship or rather lack of with Silver. Showing Kanto's relationship with Johto and the ties between the Kanto birds and Lugia. It's just wasted potential.
