The initial response to the games was really unfortunate, especially given the fact that B2W2 included a lot of old fan favorite Pokemon. GF won't make another dex with exclusively new Pokemon partially because there are so many Pokemon now, but the response fans had to Gen 5 has to be a big reason too.
I wish they'd recognize that opinions have changed for the most part since then. IIRC, a lot of the early hype for USUM was because people thought it'd be like B2W2. I'm pretty disappointed with what SS has shown so far, but if the story feels like it had a lot of effort put into it like the gen 5 games, I might consider buying it.
