grating needlessly shoehorned techno soundfonts everywhere and shit progression/buildup in most of the tracks called ''good'' like the dogshit e4 theme that has to be one of the most overrated thing I've ever seen

that's like saying you can't criticize XY if you liked DP or RS because it was directed by the same person, regression can happen to composers too
you can't seriously compare mostly anything from gen 1/2 with literal noise like solgaleo/lunala battle or UB battle

You mean literally and objectively the best non-battle tunes in the franchise, anon.
Snowbelle City, Kalos Power Plant, Route 15, Super Training, Sycamore's Theme, Route 18, Laverre City, Victory Road, Pokemon League, A Terrible Past, Looker's Sorrow, Lumiose City, and that's only a few of them. I have to admit the battle themes mostly sucked though. (with a handful of exceptions like Diantha's theme, which is arguably the one most memorable thing about her)
