Unironically the reason you even have a reason to complain about pokemon at all. So some respect you dunce. No matter your feelings on gen 1, if gen 2 failed you better believe there would have been no gen 3. Waiting long enough for it to come out on the GBA would have killed it. While I agree a delayed game is often a better game, that doesn't mean it would give birth to a franchise.

Pokémon would not have existed the way it does now without Mr. Iwata.
Mr. Iwata also made sure Nintendo wouldn't fall after the WiiU disaster and made sure the Switch (back then called NX) was going to happen.

XY and ORAS were made while Iwata was still alive and in charge, dumbass

Iwata wasn't a saint, he was a regular human. He was a good programmer, but he didn't know shit about designing games. You could've said Miyamoto or Sakurai and it would've made more sense, but then I guess it wouldn't match with "muh japanese vidya jesus" narrative
