Besides, we could really use more diverse way of acquiring Pokemon. Who the fuck enjoys autistically running in circles in the grass and going through the transition and "wild x appears!" and "go get em, y!" just so you can Run Away asap because the pokemon you were after probably didn't appear anyway.
Neither that nor grinding levels takes any amount of skill, just pads playtime.
