The Gen 6+ Exp. Share is the best thing that happened to Pokemon. FUCK GRINDING.

2 things:

The full team exp boost shouldn’t have been avilable until post game where you could’ve “upgraded” it or something.

People point the finger at it on why Gen 6 is so damn easy. There are DEFINITELY bigger culprits than that.

It's not that hard desu. Colosseum has a lot of early game shitmons but also some good options. Even without the legendary dogs you should have a piss-easy run using an espeon + thyplosion / feraligatr + ampharos + hariyama / medicham core. The last 2 slots are for shadow mons until you reach the late game. At that time you should have some nice mons (i.e. granbull, flygon, forretress) to fill in the gaps

I turned it on in my USUM playthrough, and I'm still having a lot of fun.
If I had to grind for every pokémon in my team, I would quickly get bored.

It's ok if the game is balanced around using it. SM/USUM definitely felt like it did. XY/ORAS less so. In gen 6 i only use it in gym battles where one mon can sweep thanks to type/coverage so the rest of my team doesn't fall behind too much.

I still fail to see how this means you need the exp share. Chances are you're only swapping one or two Pokemon out of your team at a time, so you just fucking put the one you want to level up at the head of your team and let it fight when it can, and switch to something stronger when it can't. They literally tell you to do this in the first fucking game.

They literally give you full exp to all the pokemon that participate in a fight. Even with exp share off you get lots of extra exp, when I change in battle I feel like I'm cheating.

This. I recently Nuzlocked Y, deliberately kept the Exp. Share off, and still ended with a team in the 70s by the Elite Four thanks to how the game handles switch EXP.

You never had to grind. Just battle plenty of trainers and prioritize good team composition.

The EXP share as it is now should've been the way it is a long time ago since so many other JRPGs already gave experience to your entire party. However, Gamefreak fucked up by having laughably low-leveled opponents in Gen 6/7 and introducing overpowered gimmicks at the same time.

I'm fine with it, but the games need to be balanced around it.
In X&Y and S&M I played with it off and still ended up steamrolling everything - anyone with it on must have been 20 levels higher than was necessary.
It worked fine in LGPE (assuming you didn't chain catch anything). I hope they can keep the difficulty curve to that sort of standard.
