Why is the Pokemon fanbase so insistent on Sword and Shield being the best selling Switch game of 2019 regardless if a boycott happens, despite the obvious massive drop in quality?

I've seen multiple popular posts on many different websites about fans not wanting to buy the game anymore because of the lack of all Pokemon and other stuff, and the "Little Timmy" strawmans are possibly too busy playing other games like Minecraft or Fortnite to care about the new games.
