Why did they remove permanent weather

Weather teams made gen 5 so much more tolerable and made battles so much better.
Now battles are bland and trash. Will they ever bring back weather?
God I miss it, does anyone else?

I really do miss it. Just another thing gamefreak dropped the ball on. It’s hard to like “competitive” pokemon when it’s so inconsistent generation to generation.

Weather wars were extremely centralizing. Like, there were many Pokemon that could abuse it and very few that could do anything against it outside of other Weather setters, which could've just ended up getting ko'd or something.

They were fun, but very degenerate.

Weather is a great mechanic but permanent weather made it hard for any pokemon that didn't thrive in any weather lose all viability. Fucking love weather, use a weather team all the time, but I don't want every match to be weather v weather.

It was closer to 3/4, especially in tournament play, the 25% left was a mix between stall, dragmag and actual weatherless teams. Let's not forget the fact that smogon hit weather very hard by speed-boosting weather abilities, yet it's still a dominant force.

I meant in BW OU, which is still played in tours. Weather is still good in current OU but nowhere near as dominant.

About 25% are weather. Rain and Sand are still good. Dedicated sun teams aren't good but zard y is decent. Aurora veil offense is kinda okay thanks to alolan ninetales, but it's not really a hail team.
