They've been gradually doing massive fuckups in every generation, in a way I think testing consumers' patience by how much they can get away with. So far it's worked since even if they lose old players they still get new mindless retards. But it's different now because they successfully made a great portion of the fanbase mad because of the culling. And this opened up an archive of all the shit GameFreak has been doing over the years plus the less focus pokemon games have now (they're not priority so probably less budget/people).
Videos/webms of their incompetence keep appearing everyday and more people are becoming aware of all these points: animation, quality, features, etc.
