Detective Pikachu is definitely better primarily because Ash looks horrifying
But also it's kinda just boring. It's not trying to go for semi-realism, just... a 3D remake. I get that it had a different intention, but shot-for-shot remakes are pretty much always just boring, right? Especially if it's from 2D to 3D. No one was really asking for this.
Also I don't know if this is 100% true or not but if so, apparently Team Rocket doesn't do the viking bit which means there is no possible way for them to dub in the Minnesota Vikings joke again, so this movie is pointless before it even came out
