Design wise they're fine. Competitively... not so much.

Only difference? Unova's are less cool and interesting

I like Emboar on it's own but I think its the weakest design of the starters
Blaziken was a fresh idea
Infernape was questionable but had a cool oriental vibe going on
Emboar was just pushing it

The snake and otter were meh but their concepts were still fresh

I see a lot of people say this but I don't quite get it.
Serperior seems pretty good and from what I've seen a lot of people (even including non degenerates) like it.
Samurott is stupid and strays from the other two massively (though they're pretty poor too) but a decent portion of people seem to like it too.
Emboar is the only one that I see almost everyone revile.

Oshawott line still pisses me off.
It's so close to being GOAT, It has some of my favorite shit, Mammal Starter, Otter, Samurai, but they just had to fuck it up SO hard on the last evolution. Fucking Game Freak incompetence at it again.
