Anyone else think meowth could have been a secondary mascot to the series if TPC pushed it harder at the start?

Fuck eevee, it should have been let's go pikachu and let's go meowth.

Then it wouldn't have been a remake of yellow, plus Meowth has a permanent role in the anime whereas Eevee doesn't.
