We have never had this issue before because Game Freak never claimed to cut stuff to improve it and then they didn't improve it.

If Masuda hadn't lied and said that they were culling Pokemon for animation and graphical reasons then not nearly as many people would give a shit.
The fact that they're culling Pokemon, the Wild Area looks empty as fuck, Dynamaxing is a dumb as fuck gimmick, along with all the other components of this shit cakes just makes the bad animations insulting.

Actually since XY or ORAS there have been complaints about the animations being too slow and lazy, moves like low kick has been the same animation and GF has put so many polygons into the mons that it's make the frame rate drop from time to time during battle.

People are mad about animations because the transition from crummy outdated handheld to a new-gen home console should've indicated a jump in quality.
But it didn't. We put up with it throughout the 3DS's lifespan, but it isn't acceptable anymore. It sets a horrible precedent for future games if Game Freak can't be even be assed to try going forward.

/vp/ does this every gen, and before /vp/ it was done on /v/ every gen. There is no reason that models weren't 3D on the DS when shit like Metroid and Mario64 ds existed. Then 3DS had Resident evil and Kid Icarus and X&Y looked like ass comparatively.

That didn't happen though. We're getting Pokemon X3 Y3 on Nintendo Switch with cut Pokemon, but with a higher pricetag. And one of the primary reasons for cuts listed by the developers was literally "high fidelity animations".

They promoted this game as something that was going to please veteran fans, and the long wait caused by LGPE made fans' expectation even higher.
Pokemon 2019 on switch could have been what we always dreamed for ages, waiting for a home console pokemon game for more than fucking 20 years.
Now, on top of swsh being almost the same game as always, they used animation as a shitty excuse to cut 'mons out of the game.

Without dexit, no one would be this upset for animations. Sure we would be disappointed anyway by the game quality, but maybe not enraged.

People has always wanted a main series game on home console, they could've used this chance to make battles look impressive, like they did in the stadium games. But they didn't. Animations are what give personality and charm to the mons during battles. In a game where you spend half of the time battling. I'd say animations are pretty important. Might as well just have all the characters and pokémon T-posing during the entire game. Would you still buy it then?

Game Freak should be ashamed and apologists should stop defending their laziness/incompetence/indifference.
