It make sense if you look at the E3 news as an accident, considering you'd want to say that kind of shit only after a huge positive announcement or after the hype cycle for the game swelled so big it was barely an audible sour note among the the rest of the orchestra. They announced it when the biggest thing they had shown off that day was Pokeball Plus connectivity.
