Decided there will be 18 major NPCs, one for each type. A bit less than the average HM-like, but this is a game I'm working on all by myself, so... whatever.
Here's an early draft of who/what they'll be, etc.
I believe by focusing on non-established characters in the Pokemon universe, I'll be able to write a wider variety of stories that don't conflict with canon. If I made Erika the flower girl, for example, I would inevitably disappoint a few people who know a lot more about Erika than I do.
However, these named NPCs will still exist in the world, and they may get shout-outs.

Of course, this is just placeholder art until I get bored, or find someone who can do actual art, but... I have a feeling it'll be placeholder art for a good long while.
Anyway, I'm going to work on writing now. Just had to get this out of the way so I could decide who'll find you when you wake up on the ground at the beginning of the game.
