They are in fact lying. When you port over models and assets to another engine it's true that the models' textures will look low quality however, they can just use a free upscaling AI software to automatically increase the textures' quality and saving a lot of time.

They lied about the reason for the national dex exclusion. It wasnt for balancing issues, it was because they couldn't reuse the models from the 3ds games for compativility issues according to a more recent interview. Which is again a lie because they reused models from Sun and moon for the lets go games (which to be honest look a lot more appealing graphically and art direction wise to me).

People aren't mad because of the animations nor they are mad that they cut the national dex (although it certainly not helped either). The reason they are mad is that because there arent any significant improvements that justify these compromises. And masuda keeps making inconsistent excuses as to why the game is turning up this way.

They can always delay the game or hire more people but intead they have half of the studio working on another game months before a new pokemon game release.

Even if this is true then why aren't all pokemon going to be in future games? Why are they not adding DLC with additional pokemon in updates? None of this makes sense.

If the models were different then the animations for the Pokemons would be different too. The previous generation mons all look like the same models from SM and USUM, if they were made from scratched Pikachu wouldn't use the same animation from XY when for low kick.

Oh and it's not just the face, the lower body is different too. There's a convenient line of shading across SS pikachu's... I guess youd call that his thighs. The line is totally straight, making is really clear that SS pikachu's "legs" don't have the bulbous parts that LGPE pikachu has. It's right there in the pic, it's a different model.

The shading is the simplest way to indicate how the model is shaped, dumbass. I didn't say the shading is different, I said the shading is a STRAIGHT LINE where if it was the same model it would be a soft "m" shape over the thighs.
