Mario got a huge boost to personality on it's switch to 3d.
Doomguy was a clean slate outside of his Rabbit and refusing to shooting civilians, but it got expanded to hell and back in the games that followed to a point he decides to stay and fight the demons and then got the comic shit, fuck it even reboot Doomslayer has a lot of personality in the way he emotes with his fists, I really want to see if he stays the angry marine I'm the new game or we get to see more of it's silly side.
Red meanwhile is the idiot that gives you a free win in PWT and battle tree that has been beaten by more protagonists than anyone in this franchise.
