This thread just reminded me how my step mom told us to save money growing up to buy a car when we got older. I spent it all and felt bad and my step mom yelled at me. Found out years later though that anytime you would put money into the piggy bank she would steal half of it and then say you lost it and should have been more careful.

My sister stayed home from school one day and went to go to her room and found our step mom scooping money out of the piggy bank. She yelled at my sister to not tell anyone or she would be grounded. Step mom grounded us all the time anyways for whatever reason she felt like so my sister told everyone. That was about 12 years ago, and haven't spoken to her in 6. She never got any better. Forged my name on some cheques, kept losing jobs for stealing from them.

I'm not sure when being retarded with money somehow started making people adults. Why is taking out a huge debt you'll never be able to pay off and moving out as soon as you turn 18 forcing you to pay all kinds of unnecessary bills good? By the time people I went to high school with were graduating college with crippling debt and up to their eyes with bills they can't pay I was buying my own home. Somehow I was a manchild though because I lived at home a few extra years.
