The entire 3DS gen was dogshit. We should have seen this coming. Next they’ll dumb down battles to GO mechanics and normalfags will praise the “streamlining” of “confusing mechanics” even though this fucking game is literally just Rock Paper Scissors with mindgames. After that, they’ll cut wild battles entirely and Pokémon will be added to your roster as soon as you encounter them. This too will delight shitters. It’s time to jump ship, this series is dead. They will trim it down until it’s just a walking simulator with scripted encounters and AI programmed to lose.

I mean, GF will never do that - but that's still what I want. Couldn't care less how the bloated graphics look, I would prefer 2D battles anyway as they go faster. In theory, this would be good grounds for a reboot of the franchise under any competent developer. However, pokemon isn't managed competently anyway.

Nah, at least with older gens you could clearly see the slow but steady progress being made over time. I don't think I can name a single feature from previous gens aside from diving that was fully missing in Platinum or HGSS.
BW is when the series took a nosedive into this unholy forced story-gimmicks-uniqueness cancer that keeps plaguing it to this day.

Do you simply mean not forcing the player to only have mons of the new gen in their team? Because that's the only gameplay difference between BW and BW2 is this.
So it only says that the above decision wasn't a good one, but that BW2 redeemed gen5 by its own new features, areas and improvements
