Why are these placed so highly in power lore? I'm genuinely curious. People also place the "original dragon" to be on par with the creation trio. The tao trio sometimes is placed higher than the weather trio, but the weather trio has alot of feats to back it up but the tao trio is not that strong in game, weak in it's own movies and pathetic in the anime. Pls answer.

The games have a better story than the average pokemon story and having a better story usually translates into having better lore as well (which doesn't day much since the story and lore are two of the weaker, if not the weakest, points in the franchise)

The Pokedex states Reshiram and Zekrom can scorch the entire planet. That's pretty much it for why they're placed so high.

The Original Dragon is placed on par with the Creation Trio because some hints in the Unova games have lead some to theorize that it has a connection to them.
>Ghetsis for some reason had the Creation Orbs and gifted them to you at the end of BW
>In BW2 you find the orbs in Dragonspiral Tower
>Unova has its own sacred lake where the lake guardians travel to from Sinnoh
>Dialga represents solids, Palkia represents Liquid, Giratina represents gas and the Original Dragon would theoretically represent plasma

Thanks for the explanation, does the tao trio ever demonstrate that? I know the weather trio can and the creation trio can but i haven't seen it happen other than whatever info you've gathered.

Other than the dex entries that state they have the power to alter the planet's atmosphere, they've both created and destroyed the Unova region during the war.
But I think it's kinda hard to measure their power with their recorded feats because they're kinda "domesticated" due to their closeness to humans. Which sets them appart from things like Groudon and Kyogre, who just spread chaos if left unchecked and therefore have more impressive displays of power.

Unova's probably the most lore-rich region in the series. Game Freak really worked hard on creating a sense of wonder and mystery.

Personally, I just think being a legendary hero is more interesting that constantly raising the power scaling each generation.

Reshiram and Zekrom might not be some creature that governs weather, bends time and space, or controls life or death. Its just a strong dragon that manages to be significant with lore without resorting to trying to go to absurd levels.

So all that in mind, the concept of what these dragons might have been like or could be if they were one whole being is naturally a concept that would intrigue people. In any work of fiction, when you have characters who are fragments of a whole being, you naturally are curious to see what they would be like if they were whole.

Yeah one of the things I really appreciated about gen 5 is that they scaled the legendaries down from bullshit time and space and god mons. I love how they are integrated into the story as well.
