Just got done grinding up for Clair(I in fact decided to skip grinding Flareon for the moment since he won't take part) and took her on. The whole team is finally fully evolved now, including Jumpluff! Finally the entire squad has their portraits in place.

Gurdy Ice Punches it, but it lives with a sliver of health letting it get a Thunder Wave off.
It then fires off a Dragonbreath before dying ot an Ice Punch

It fires off two Dragonbreath and dies in two Ice Punches.

Gets one Dragonbreath off before Ice Punch oneshots it.

At this point Gurdy is way too worn down to continue, so I send in Vector... straight into a Hyper Beam.
Strength then does a bith more than a third of Kingdra's health.
Another Strength(this one does about a third, lower roll) meets an unimpressive Surf.
A third Strength to finish off Kingdra... wait, no, the Damage roll ends up going way low and it actually survives, firing off another Hyper Beam that barely misses killing Vector with 20 HP(noticeably more damage this turn than the first, must have been a high roll).
A fourth Strength ends Kingdra.

after grinding i went to do two gyms and some story stuff, i ended up getting a magnemite in the ironworks which i evolved into a magnezone and gave him some tms. Then I got lucky in lake acuity and found a female snorunt which i evolved into a froslass and gave it ice beam and shadow ball. Overall really happy with this team, hopefully there are no deaths tomorrow.

This is a continuation of Origin Platinum; I have changed the template format/alphabetized everything.

Currently at Solaceon. I've caught several Pokémon on my way here, but the only important ones are the ones in my team, Midnight, and the Duskull, which I have nicknamed Revenant. I have decided to permabox Aspen.

Fantina was handled by Indiana's Crunch/Midnight's Assurance; Cobalt became a Shelgon, but fainted to a Wynaut's Mirror Coat.

I have the TM Roost but I'm not sure who I should teach it to -- Midnight, Nimbus, or Indiana...

I am not much of an expert in Pokémon, but to cover your types I would suggest getting a Sandygast for Poison, Ghost and Electric types. (Though I don't think you'll run into Pokémon of those types at this point in the game)

If you can't get a Sandygast... uh, Gengar I guess? I don't really know if this will be of any assistance... but you'll be battling a Mimikyu in the Ghost trial..

Some light grinding later, we take down Red and bid adieu to Silver! Once again took advantage of some X items (seriously, that Pikachu of his is just asking to be sat up on by a Ground type), but it's either that or grind for days, and I'm just not that patient
Overall, this was a really nice run (up until we lost Pollyanna), I'm happy that I'm able to keep my deaths this low, I've had runs where I have to make a second death box in the pc because I lost more than 30 mons in a run (I believe that was in Platinum), hopefully I'll be able to keep it up!

Doing a shinylocke of Ultra FireRed XD. KANTOOOOO and dank memes, what could go wrong? Lost to Brock on my first attempt because all my mons were weak to Rock, but the second time was the charm and Chikorita was actually good for something for once. Update on that, taught my lopunny fire punch to help with grass types, then went ahead and finished off the galactic story. Gardevoir died to a crit x-scissor from saturns toxicroak, and gyarados died to a crit thunder fang from cyrus's houndoom in the distortion world. I replaced gardevoir with roserade since i didnt have any other psychic types and the poison typing could be helpful, then i just went to sandgem town to get another magikarp to replace gyarados. Overall not so bad deaths, only worried about strong fighting types now due to the lack of psychic types but I don't think there are any trainers with those from this point on. I'm just happy i was able to get past the cyrus fight with only one death.

Probably gonna train roserade to be on par with the rest of the party, while putting an exp share on magikarp. Then after the last gym ill do one last grind to 58-60.

Don't know how to really deal with Chuck though. Yass is kind of really useless without a Moon Stone. And Moon Stones are apparently the rarest of the rare in Johto.

You might get some good use out of Magikarp and Tentacruel if you can grind them up. IIRC, only Chuck's Primeape has has a rock move, while Poliwrath will try to Double Team or Hypnosis in order to set up Focus Punch.

I fucked up lads, I lost an entire days worth of progress on my red nuzlocke which went from the 1st through the 8th and just before the e4. Team was Charizard, Lapras, Vileplume, Nidoking, and Golem. Now it's a charmander, nidoran, and pidgey.

No, I ended up using my Master Ball on Ho-Oh big help that did. I caught Latias in a Fast Ball after chasing it a bit.
Back when I ran HG years ago, I set a rule for roaming legendary pokemon. If the roaming pokemon is the first encounter for the area and I have never encountered the pokemon before that, I allow myself to chase the pokemon and catch it. Latias fell under those condition in this run. Raikou and Entei first popped up on routes I already caught something on, so they were disqualified.

I started my Storm Silver run and I got a perfectly average Eevee from Cynthia, neutral nature and normal ability, so I can turn him into basically any evolution. I'm kind of tempted to turn him into an Umbreon, though, if only for using his synchronize in future catches (I've been dealt pretty shitty natures in the past and I'd want to avoid that as much as possible), and I guess it'd be a pretty good defensive mon

It's kinda rough. The game itself is easy enough but sometimes shit just happens, and I guess they had enough confidence that experience share would take you far enough cause the trainer selection is abnormally small. The game can get suddenly hard if you lose your heavy hitters and you're forced to grind the Johto-tier low level wild Pokemon.

It's pretty decent. XY without Exp Share can be rough in places but is mostly easy, the best part about it is honestly the sheer variety of Pokemon to catch.

The pokemon does stay shiny after you first encounter it. Once you encounter the pokemon, all of its attributes like stats and nature, etc, are set and are the same with every encounter until you catch it or knock it out.
And sorry for your impending loss. You might be able to pull out a miracle by focusing Arcanine against Glaceon and switching Torterra out for Aerodactyl.

I switch out to Maraco anticipating a grass move or Sleep Powder since I gave him a Chesto Berry.
Venusaur outplays me and goes for Sludge Bomb on the switch.
Maraco is knocked all the way down to lower red and then takes hail damage.
Maraco survives with 3 HP.
I bring in Gilda to take on Venusaur and she soaks up a Sludge Bomb.
We trade Psychic and Sludge Bomb, forcing Gilda to eat her Sitrus Berry.
Red starts burning up his Full Restores to keep Venusaur alive while each Psychic knocks it back into the red after hail damage.
One last Psychic knocks Venusaur out and hail damage puts Gilda at about 30%.

My original plan was to switch Janice in on a fire attack and run it down with Return, but Charizard won't go for a fire attack with Gilda out.
I send in Frigita who takes an Air Slash.
Hail does nothing to Frigita since she is Ice-type. Neat.
Charizard goes for Flare Blitz and does a moderate amount of damage while I use Surf and hit it into critical range.
Red uses his last Full Restore while I check him with Surf.
We trade one last Flare Blitz and Surf to end the battle.
How fitting it is to end the run with the last surviving Pokemon from the showdown with Lance.

And with that, my HeartGold nuzlocke comes to a close. Quite fun at the onset but quickly got rather tedious once I needed to take on the Kanto gym leaders. There were some really interesting and fun options I wish could have stayed longer like Togetic, Mismagius, Umbreon, and Hitmontop. I'm pretty content with the team I took to the final battle and I'm super excited about finding Gilda the shiny Latias at the end.

I'll be back to run White in a little while. For now, I'm going to just enjoy more of HG's post-game and see if I can get the mystery gift exploit to work and re-download all the old mystery gifts from back in the day.

What happens when you wipe while doing a Nuzlocke run? I've never played it but it seems fun. I'm just making sure I understand some "rules" for specific (fail) states. So of course, if I lose a Pokemon in a battle, loading my save would be a no-no, no reason to play Nuzlocke then. What if I faint? Release all my pokemang? What if I don't have any left in the box (doubt this will happen, maybe during some very unlucky poisonous early game?)

Also, am I correct in my assumption that the finite amount of pokemon I have is based on my game's different areas (because catching 1 pokemon per area). Also what if an NPC offers me a trade, I'm allowed to do that?

As for areas, that's pretty standard, but I allow multiple catches on especially large areas with clear differences in levels and Pokemon distribution (such as Mt. Coronet in DPPt, which has like 3 different distributions, for example).

You have a finite amount of Pokemon available (one Pokemon for Route 1, one Pokemon for Route 2, one for Viridian Forest etc)
Some consider gift Pokemon as the one you get for that area, others consider it a freebie on top of what you catch naturally there
Allowing in-game trades is up to you, personally I think it's fair game as long as you can catch what they ask for legit (For example my first catch on R31 was a Bellsprout so I traded that for an Onix in Violet City)

Roserade: Gorby slams it with Fly. 2 KOs.
Milotic: A single Ice Beam WOULD have killed my starter...if I hadn't specifically looked around for EV-dropping berries and did other stuff to bump up Adenauer's SpD. As it stood, Adenauer, the bro, survived on 21 HP after using Wood Hammer. Milotic faints.
Lucario: Nasser hit it with EQ, but didn't kill. Took an ESpeed probably meant for Adenauer given how I'm playing Set. Full Restore was met with Surf, then another EQ for the knock out.
Spiritomb: No reliable answers here, but I left Nasser in to Surf once, and let McCarthy chip away with Night Slash crits until it died.
GARchomp: Krushchev came back in and WOULD have gotten fucked, had Cynthia successfully made him eat the Dragon Rush. Shadow Ball once (no debuff), DRush misses again. Huh. Nasser takes advantage to switch in again, Blizzard hits. KO.

I've not updated in a while,and the reason is HOLY FUCK WHAT THE SHIT IS HAPPENING
I don't fucking know why but this run has been a bloodshed.
I thought I was going to use Kecleon after the great Hariyama purge,but after catching it it died in no time to a magma grunt.
So I basically had only a Mawile and a lvl 7 Zigzagoon. I started to pick up and train everything in my box,but crits,errors and downright bullshit like Magnitude 10 just made the bodies pile up.
A nice thing was finding Duskull though.
I started his training as soon as I got him and he didn't let me down. In the meanwhile I caught also a Wailmer and trained Zigzagoon.
Using a repel I made my way up to the summit of Mt Pyre and catched a Chimeco,thanks dupes clause.
So my situation was actually becoming stable.
Until Wailmer decided that dying against a Sharpedo while training would be such a nice idea.
Without a real water type other than Pelipper I surfed to Evergrande,hoping to catch a Corsola.
And fucking Luvdisc out of nowhere.
Pelipper then died on the way back but hey,I got an useless heart!
While grinding though I have to admit that I feel quite attached to this new party.
And they all work more or less nicely,except Luvdisc.
I'm amazed by the fact that the ones to survive all this death were Meru and Lime.
And they are very VERY useful.
I'm happy about this new team,and having just picked up a Spheal,I feel hopeful about the future.
Meru and Lime will win. They really deserve it.

i thought about it, but i went back to a route that i didnt get an encounter for and got a ponyta, so i did some grinding and also went back to wayward cave and got a gible (since the rest of the pokemon there were dupes) and finally i decided to go with riolu since i would prefer a strong fighting type over a mediocre fighting/psychic type. Starting to regain some encouragment to keep goin.
Also just asking for the future, since ive grinded most of my mons in route 214 to level 40 or so, where to i grind for the higher levels. i plan to grind to 58 or so, i was originally gonna try victory road but the exploding gravelers scare me.

Tesla singlehandedly took on Wake; she also learned Volt Tackle (in this romhack).
Basil died to an Ace Couple's Graveler's Rock Blast on the way to Celestic. I couldn't use Floatzel because I had to bring Pepper the HM slave for Defog, Broadway was burnt earlier by the Ace Couple's Infernape, and there was a water-type I don't remember preventing Augustine from participating.
By the time the Graveler was released everyone was in the yellow. I really thought I could pull through by sacrificing Pepper, but I didn't...
Currently, I plan to head to the Fuego Ironworks to see if I can find another Fire-type pokémon to replace Basil, as I was planning to use him in Canalave along with Augustine.

Well,it's time to wrap up this intense and dramatic run.
After defeating Maxie with the power of Sophia and taking down Wallace thanks to Akari's Shock Wave and a little help from Grim against Milotic,we entered the Victory Road.
Wally was defeated by the combined efforts of Sophia and Grim (who oneshotted Gardevoir),so now I'm in front of the reception gate.

That's stupid. It would be more interesting to let you choose your encounter for each route, but you're forced to choose between catching new pokemon to use and fill out the dex, or building up a combo to gain extra experience. Let's Go is already piss easy if you use the starter, so grinding shouldn't be allowed.

BigGuy4You here, I forgot that HG would come after Pearl in my Full Series run - so no Black 2 yet! I'm running Sacred Gold and need to ask DID DRAYANO INCREASE SHINY ODDS because HOLY SHIT 3 SHINIES PRE-FALKNER!?
Now as for the run, I've only ever made it halfway through this hack so I'm playing cautious, 6 mons per gym leader is very challenging and I don't wanna get BTFO. All the shinies happened during grinding - grinding that I overdid as a LVL 15 Glaceon Icy Wind spammed the 1st gym to death.

I'm only planning on using shiny Natu at the moment, as I've used Abra and Geodude in previous runs, but since their shiny I might exclude them from my Champs ruleset.

Question: Is Bugsy hard in Drayano Sacred/Storm and how many shinies have you guys caught in nuzlockes?

I finally grinned up my team along with three new recruits.
I could’ve brought Glalie in place of Klefki, which using might be tricky, but Prankster Thunder Wave is so helpful and I’d rather make my team defensive as I am not taking chances anymore.
Ridiculon is nice because I finally have an Intimidater back on my team, and he’ll be leading the charge because of this ability. Now let’s see what Lusamine is all about

I managed to win, but damn if that battle wasn't suffocating.
I tried using Schumer against her Clefable, but it knew Psychic and damn near oneshot Schumer, so I was forced to send in Sora. It took a little while, but she had no moves to hit Sora so he pulled through. Next was her Lopunny, and since Play Rough was doing virtually no damage I went into Ridiculon to soften its Attack stat with Intimidate. Ice Punch hit hard, but Crunch beat it down eventually.
Her team felt gimmicky so far, so I was shocked at how much this next Pokémon screwed with me. Her Lilligant, combined with Own Tempo and Petal Dance, was a nightmare to deal with, it was capable of outspeeding and twoshotting every Pokémon on my team, including Formidable. Only via luck with minmax damage was Sora able to pull off Torment, which led to her switching into Milotic. Floregal handled it soundly.
Next threat was her Bewear, which both Zen Headbutt and Play Rough did nothing against, so I paralyzed it with Thunder Wave and had Schumer try to tank it. Unfortunately, Schumer's awful ability in Weak Armor made it so she was eventually brought down, but I had no choice to use her to damage the Bewear to a point where Floregal could revenge kill it, it was hitting the rest of my team too hard.
Finally, Sora was actually able to consistently take Petal Dances because he leveled up in the middle of the fight, so he handled the Lilligant in the end.
In other news, I've arrived at Poni Island, and I'm going to need a nickname for a male Granbull and female Dragalge I caught

On Aaron my rapidash pretty much carried, the only problem was his vespiquen which knew power gem so i swapped to magnezone to be safe, then swapped to garchomp to finish off heracross since i didnt want gyarados to die to stone edge, he eats a stone edge and then kills him with dragon claw. Lucian wasnt so easy, i was able to do fine with my froslass until he sent out gallade, this gallades moveset sort of covered my entire team, so i wasnt sure what to do. So i just swapped into magnezone to see if he could tank a drain punch. So i send him out and i heal from his stone edge and i tbolt... then he crits me with a drain punch and OHKOs magnezone. I use this opportunity to go out into gyarados and aqua tail and he uses stone edge, which i live and just do it again and finally kill the galade. It wasn't over since right after that he sent out alakazam. I was retarded and was afraid of energy ball since i thought gyarados was weak to it (always forget hes a flying type too) so i switch out into rapidash since hes at full health and can probably tank a hit. He ends up eating a psychic at goes to around 50 health or so. Then I went for a flare blitz thinking he would live (although i knew it would be close) and then he kills alakazam, then dies of recoil. So right before the champion i have 3 pokemon.
Again a pretty simple

She then sent out her togekiss which i one shot with ice fang. I wasnt able to one shot her lucario but she went for extremespeed so i just aqua tail'ed twice and it was down. She sent out her milotic which i just d'danced 4 times on, then aqua tail'ed and got a crit and OHKO'ed. The rest of her team is sort of easy now, ice fang garchomp, ice fang roserade and then boom. the fights done. I was pretty worried going in with all those deaths but gyarados carried super hard throughout the E4 and cynthia, either way GGs. probably gonna play black and white next. I overall enjoyed the teams i had and the mons i got, even if the grind was tedious.

I have a buddy who has wanted to take on my team with his own Crystal team for a while, and I know him to be roughly on par with my current levels.
Going for Blue(and even moreso Red) is gonna end up with me outleveling him.

I chose Lime as my Lead against Shelgon.
Using Return,he actually defeated it in a couple of turns.
But Shelgon was never a menace.
The two Flygons are.
But before them,there was Altaria.
Decided to send Meru.
She tanked every hit while damaging the blue bird with Return.
While checking the moveset of the two Flygons,I found out that one of the two has FLAMETHROWER (thus making Meru not an option) and CRUNCH (which would be a grave danger for both Akari and Grim).
I sent Lime to see which of the two Flygons were out.
It was the one with fly and dig,so I sent Meru,who used Iron Defense a couple of times making that dragon useless.

Pinky used Charm,a move that bacame essential to defeat it.
Obviously Salamence killed her off,but it was too late : its attack was cut.
Knowing that I sent Grim.
With a Will-O-Wisp,Shadow Punches and a bit of luck Grim slayed the dragon.
Good fucking shit,Drake was hype as fuck.
But the Champion was waiting.

Against his Skarmory I decided to use Akari,using Yawn and then zapping it with Shock Wave.
The fucker though succeded in using Spikes.
So it was Cradily time. First of all,Yawn again.
Then Psychic.
Cradily put up a good fight,and Steven helped it with a Full Restore.
Cradily then hit with a crit Ancient Power,killing Akari.
Time for Meru.
Meru,with Brick Break,fought against Cradily while it kept using Confuse Ray,but she didn't hit herself once.
So Steven sent Claydol.
I had 3 mons in that moment.
Lime,Grim and Meru.
I thought about who I wanted against not only Claydol,but also against the others.
So Grim was the obvious decision.
Will-O-Wisp and Shadow Punch,a classic combo for my good ghost.
Aggron was easy,surprisingly enough.
Grim first burned it,and then Earthquaked it to death (but it took a long time to do this because Steven kept using Full Restores on it.)
Armaldo was easy like Aggron.
Grim just tanked everything he did.
But holy fuck,he missed enough Will-O-Wisps that I had to use a Max Ether.
Still,he did pretty good.

Now for the main course.
Metagross.
The outcome of the battle was going to be decided by Grim.
Either he hits with his Will-O-Wisp or we all die.
Metagross hits him with a Meteor Mash.
With 22 HP,Grim DOESN'T MISS FOR FUCKING ONCE.
I healed immediatly the fucker and then used Earthquake.
I wanted to stall until I was sure to kill it in one turn before Steven could use a Full Restore.
But Metagross decided that cutting Grim's special defense with Psychic would be funny.
I had to do a quick change.
Lime surely couldn't take a hit from that metal motherfucker.
So Meru had to do one final stand.
Metagross hit her with Meteor Mash.
She was left with 70 or so HP.
I healed Grim,I had to,and prepared myself to see my prized Mawile die.
BUT HOLY SHIT
SHE TANKED EARTHQUAKE
I KNOW METAGROSS' ATTACK WAS CUT BUT FUCK
SHE SURVIVED WITH 2 FUCKING HP
I LOVE MAWILE GUYS

The hype was real bois.
Grim was ready to hit with Earthquake.
Metagross used Psychic,reducing Grim in the red.
But he did his job.
METAGROSS DIED TO THE BURN.
FUCKING MERU AND LIME SURVIVED
THEY DID IT
THEY ACTUALLY DID IT
This run was fucking intense.
A fuckton of deaths,grind and Hariyamas.
But they won.
Everybody had a moment of glory,especially that FUCKING FISH AND MERU.

Going through Storm Silver, just beat Morty and went to explore previous areas with surf and I got my ass kicked in Union cave by a set of Ace trainers with middle stage starters. Here's my UM run so far and it is pretty easy except for the totem battles. fucking water-dew-bug-thing nearly killed me but luckily i managed to paralyze it so i could get some cheap shots in between potions. i have a level cap of 22 so i just have to grind a bit more before fire trial that's up next

Shroomish and Beautifly are proving pretty vital in the earlygame. I kinda feel guilty because I'm don't really intend to invest in either for the long term.
Breloom is really good and early, but it shares a whole bunch of my starters weaknesses, and it could end up used in another run instead if I have a bit of luck. It's staying around for Wattson at least, though.

Small update here.
I trained up Poisabyss the Dragalge and added her to my team while Churchill the Granbull got boxed.
I went to Exeggutor Island and tried interacting with one of the Exeggutor, but to my surprise I got jumped by a Pinsir. Unfortunately, Sora killed it with a critical Play Rough.
I wanted to see if I could catch something in Vast Poni Canyon yet, and I beat up some Team Skull Grunts and that annoying Recon Squad again. Also an Ace Trainer surprised me by using a Z move, but SwSh Hype! managed to tank it.
Pic related is my team before I venture deeper into the canyon, but I figured I’d ask, should I go back and battle the trainers I’ve skipped on Poni Island, or would I be getting overleveled?

After overleveling, Red is done. Caesar was only really useful against alakazam and exeggutor, but definitely carried me through victory road. Lucullus carried the early game and really helped with grinding up Sejanus and even grabbed a kill on Dragonite in the e4. Civilis soloed Agatha aside from Sejanus proving he was the better arbok. Valens managed to beat the shit out of everthing thing that was weak to electric and shrugged off hydro pumps left and right. Sejanus dealt with jinx with a single rock slide and was the reason grinding took so long, but I now understand why arbok is great, glare wrap combo is a death sentence against non ghost types. Finally, Plautis decimated Bruno, Lance, and 1/2 of Gary's team. Amnesia is fucking broken on him. Next game up is Blue, I'm surprised how well every fight went with the exception of Lorelei as going in with around level 60s seemed to be more than enough.

Final results of my sun nuzlocke with Swinub. It went surprisingly well aside from Totem Mimikyu (Haunter turned the entire thing into a nightmare) but I was surprised at not just how well my Mamoswine did in game but also how well Alolan-Golem did. Fittingly they were the only two to survive the entire run.

None of the E4 were too terribly tough, but I had to switch the Groundium-Z for Icium-Z to deal with Palossand, and A-Golem had to remove Magnezone from Kukui's team so Mamoswine could roam freely and stampede everything he had.

Still deciding if I want to continue the run into the postgame. Either way I'm glad I did this run and I'm glad I managed to get a shiny swinub. I've fallen in love with the line and it's gone from something I liked but never used to my third favorite pokemon and a go-to on my teams, even replacing chomp in OU. It's fucking nuts how strong it is.

The Trainers in Vast Poni Canyon are no joke.
I haven’t even bothered battling all of them by the time I reached the Trial gates, I’d rather get that over with than risk more battles right now.
So here’s my team for the Seventh Trial.

I did it, and it went pretty well.
During the trial I ran into Jangmo-o, which the Pokédex said was Dragon/Fighting, so naturally I led with Sora for the Totem Kommo-o.
Prankster Thunder Wave is my first move. A +1 Drain Punch halves my health, and then a Noivern pops in. Knowing that I needed to lower Kommo-o’s Attack with Ridiculon’s Intimidate, I switched into SwSh Hype to bait a non-Fighting type move. He lost a good amount of health to Boomburst though.
I got off two Intimidates after sacrificing Terrow, and from there it seemed Sora had the battle won.
But the Noivern started to lower his Defenses with Screech, and the Kommo-o had an anti-Fairy Berry. I ultimately sacrificed Sora so he could paralyze the Noivern as well.
SwSh Hype killed the Kommo-o with Psychic, and Ridiculon finished the Noivern with Continental Crush.
RIP Sora, you were as awesome and useful as I hoped you’d be.

Basically I've been very depressed lately so I thought I'd help someone else out with comp by breeding Swinub, giving them the first egg then hatching a few others later because helping someone else makes me feel better. Well, egg number 5 turned out to be shiny and was born on the 4th of July so I felt obligated to do something with it, so I decided to make a Nuzlocke run of Sun with the following idea (because I also did this in ORAS with Sableye and loved it):

-Standard Nuzlocke Rules+no EXP Share
-Swinub is treated as the starter pokemon for all intents and purposes
-Swinub has to be in the party at all times
-Swinub's trainer has been kidnapped and his mission is to rescue him from Necrozma. Because of this, I am not allowed to buy any items: I can only use what I find. This actually turned out to be what made it really fucking hard, because it grew very difficult to keep up health between fights.
-Also, if Swinub faints, no matter how many pokemon are left the run ends in failure, so I have to not only use him I can't fuck it up and need to play safely.

The one I did with Sableye was surprisingly much easier than Mamoswine, even though I did the same rules for both. I think without the EXP Share Sun is just a much harder game than ORAS. Mimikyu was a fucking nightmare. I went in with a full team of 6 and Mamoswine was literally the only thing that survived (fuck Haunter, by the way).

Either way currently I've now fallen in love with Mamoswine, it's become one of my new favorite pokemon, and the shiny one I used for the run is currently on my comp team in his birthplace of US where he shits on just about every team he fights, especially stall. I think I'll take a visit to the postgame and finish the run: Mamoswine can beat all the UBs anyways, and I've got Tapu Koko this time.

Yeah wow, that battle went a lot better than I thought it would. I figured the bat thing was Dark/Fairy type and its new form would include that typing somewhat, and I figured a Moonblast was headed my way.
But the way I saw it, I couldn't hard switch into Poisabyss because she doesn't resist Fairy, and I'd need her at full strength to take on Necrozma, but turns out Formidable killed it by spamming Payback after it used Moongeist Beam, which Formidable resisted. Turns out it was Psychic/Ghost. Huh, I really thought Formidable was about to die.
And now I'm supposed to chase after Necrozma. Would including Absol to my Party be a good move, because Necrozma is Psychic/Ghost, or is having three Dark types on my team at once a bad idea? I don't know what kind of cohorts Necrozma would have, but a bunch of weird monsters started showing up all over the place.

Ultra-Necrozma is a Psychic Dragon type. It has SE coverage on just about everything and has an ability that boosts the damage of SE moves. It hits like a fucking train and is lightning fast with enough bulk to take more hits than it should.

At best it's going to take down one member of your team. At worst it's going to end in a TPK. The damn thing is famous for ending multiple runs for a reason. It's insane how strong it is.

Decided to level up the Solrock I caught in Meteor Falls for the Flannery fight, since I consider that one of the scarier fights to Nuzlocke.
Also, Wabuu had a close call on Mt. Chimney, where he was left with only 1 HP during the Maxie fight.

I send Pyrrhon in, and the Overheat- even with the resist, brings Pyrrhon almost into the red.
In comes Kylie, and takes a second Overheat- despite both the SpA drop and a resist, it still does about a third, but then the sun fades.
The Enemy Torkoal Body Slams as Kylie Curses.
They then exchange Body Slams two turns in a row, with both getting paralyzed by the last of them.
Kylie is too worn out, so I send in Wabuu in on a Body Slam.
He gets a Headbutt in before another Body Slam paralyzes him as well.
I can probably risk one more hit, Wabuu only dies to a crit... but no need for worry, as Headbutt finishes Torkoal off.

This was the first time I ever fought him in this hack, but his strategy was so painfully obvious I should have seen it coming a mile away: open with an Abomasnow to set perma-hail and spam blizzard with fucking everything in his team. His Mamoswine was actually the easiest to take out because it was the only one which didn't have it. And Ramiel basically lost its debut fight because I literally have never faced a Lapras and didn't know it was so fucking bulky.

Flamethower burns it before it can use Aerial Ace, and it dies to burn.

It Dragon Dances as I send Pearl in.
Its Earthquake does nasty damage, but Ice Beam thankfully oneshots it.

After Wattson I finally catched a Spinda,this time he will ABSOLUTELY go to the E4, and a Seviper.

But then I fought Flannery.

I think so, since you get the Exp. Share almost right away in SGSS, Mr. Pokemon gives you a Lucky egg for the red scale now, and that makes leveling much easier.

Still looking for that Moon Stone, huh? I did some looking around and you can find one in the Ruins of Alph, apparently. Go the lower right puzzle room (requires Surf) and then use Flash in front of the wall behind the puzzle. The secret chamber should have a Moon Stone inside.

Part of the fun of Pokemon for me is being able to create your own team, but the games are so easy that you have to add some sort of challenge

The problem with that is that you can just catch the best and strongest.
Part of what makes the Nuzlocke interesting is getting stuck with shitmons and learning to appreciate them when you'd overlook them on a normal playthrough.
And then you get sad when they die because you humanized them by naming them and they've already exceeded your expectation and become valued and beloved members of your team.

I was wondering how exactly Early Bird interacts with Rest, so I saved before using the TM.

Turn 1: Fall Asleep
Turn 2: Sleep
Turn 3: Wake Up
Pretty neat stuff, but I suspect in most scenarios I'd rather just do ChestoRests. It does offer more freedom to use offensive hold items while still offering good healing though.

I've made exceptions to the "first encounter" rule before; as much as I love Crobat, I started excluding its line from catching because I end up using one in literally every game that has them available. I think it's similar to the multi-lockes some alone are doing where you can't catch something that has made the champion team in other games
