It's a bait thread, but OPs pic isn't even true, is it? I know nothing about programming, but isn't it literally as simple as needing software that can load models and play animations? I remember having threads here where waifufags used Olivia's walking animation with other models and that was literally just a case of loading stuff into the software.

3D animation is just a set of instructions.
You're basically telling the computer that this joint will move like this and that and the computer will do so.
So if you load those instructions on another model, it'll just move those joints.

sure, they have their arguments and reasons, of course there are upgrades, it just not enough of an upgrade to justify the price and the console they've worked on
they literally stated they did let go P/E to get the grip of a console game and get the experience to work on this,

Wrong, how do you think those shit MMD videos work? Yes you will have to fix things up, but the bulk of the animation should work fine unless the model is drastically different.

Hop and Hau have the same proportions and body shape. I wouldn't even be surprised if Hop's model was edited from Hau's so they could reuse the animations more easily.

Sharing an animation has nothing to do with the model, it's all about the rig. the NPCs all share the same rig naming conventions so they can share any NPC animation between them.

For the case of the Hop-Hau thing, they DID add to the animation though. Just porting it over would make Hop's face be stationary during the animation since Hau didn't have any face rig. In the clip we clearly see Hop's mouth moving, and maybe his eyes (hard to tell with the angle).
So they ported the animation, then added keys for his facerig to go with it. They also seemed to add a prop bone animation for his bag.
