I don't understand why Joe is so keen on insisting that he's not a shill. Especially when he's so terrible at hiding it. Because it’s actually fucking hilarious.
This guy constantly overemphasizes facts and research yet he’s done absolutely none of that himself.
He starts by using google translate which clearly returns terrible English, then berates Ohmori/Masuda for not making any sense.
Then uses the incorrect translation for the basis of his argument despite not knowing how accurate it is.
Then 5 minutes later criticizes the reddit guy for ALSO USING GOOGLE TRANSLATE.
He even spends 30 seconds moaning that the podcast source is missing by looking at YouTube instead of an ACTUAL PODCAST PLAYER.

Eh. It's honestly not that great graphically, and the models are pretty shite. It's also been upscaled to 4k on Dolphin.

The animations are a bit eh as well (esp the running animations), but they're definitely far more expressive and far better than what we have right now.

I agree that they're definitely recycling some models, but this videos argument is pretty damn flimsy. Joe's logic: The models and animations had to be remade from scratch because they didn't translate over to the new engine.

This shows that a) Game Freak is incompetent at porting models and animations from one engine to the next, and b) they refuse to update models and animations; they only remade the exact same models and animations they already had for each Pokemon. Game Freak sees no reason to innovate and views the current animations/models as sufficient.

Distant Kingdom's logic: The models are exactly the same, and they were not remade.

Game Freak got rid of the national dex simply because they were overwhelmed that there were so many Pokemon, and did not put any additional effort or time into updating the Pokemon models that were actually in the game.
