>>39401768You know what you remind me off? Back when I was 15, there was this kid that would never do anything. He wouldn't do the class exercises, wouldn't do his homework, wouldn't contribute to group projects, nothing. On top of that, he was always incredibly loud and would constantly interrupt the class. The teachers told him time and time again he should make an effort and behave better, not only for the class but for himself.
One day, after struggling with this kid for so long, he actually did it. He was calm, respectful, did his work, etc. The teachers were pleasantly surprised, but by the end of the class he asked "So? I did everything you asked me! I was such a good boy, shouldn't I be getting my reward now?"
"Reward?", the teacher asked back. "A reward for doing something you should've been doing since the beginning? This was always expected of you, same as every other student. You don't get a reward for misbehaving and then suddenly correcting your ways, that's not how this works and it'd be unfair for everyone who's always been a good student."
He groaned and sat back down, annoyed, but couldn't really refute that.
Had the teacher given him the reward he wanted so much, she would've been just as you GF apologists now. Praising and congratulating GF for doing the bare minimum that was always expected from them. They should've been doing this, and better, from the start. So no, they don't deserve praise in the slightest.
