Eventually, this trend will produce a game so bad that they'll be forced to reconsider the formula and make a game that is actually fresh, taking the franchise in a whole new direction while capturing the spirit of the original.

Kind of like what happened with Zelda.

SwSh is completely failing to hype normal people though. When Sun and Moon was coming out it was all over my facebook from the kind of people who go to midnight showings of MCU movies, now I didn't even know there was a new pokemon game being developed until like last week when I hoked my games from my mom's house and decided to check in on /vp/.

The best shot SwSh has is totally doubling-down on targeting the kids. This one is already basically a lost cause for adult consumers.
