You fuckers are all insane. I was blown away by how great this movie was. Last I checked the general consensus on /vp/ was that it was pretty damn good too.

I'm very interested to see what they do next..... Aside from the remake of Mewtwo Strikes, why they remade that shitty movie with crappy CGI I will never know.

Either way it still is Disney vs Unknown Studio, comparing the two is retarded especially since its the one studios very first movie and $500 million isn't too shabby considering

This, I'm so glad I didn't pay money to watch it, it was a generic buddy cop film and the only Pokemon that got any screentime were genwun. They stuffed a bunch of Pokemon from various generations in the trailer to make it seem like it was all encompasing only for the only plot relevant Pokemon to be KANTOOOOOOO. The Pokemon repeated like fucking crazy too.

Toy Story 4 was more highly anticipated, was produced and marketed by the strongest animation brand on the planet (Disney), and had 3 other financially successful movies.

Detective Pikachu was an experiment at whether a video game movie *could* be good. We never had a full-fledged Pokemon live action movie before; it was a proof of concept at best.
