Oftentimes they include outright threats (Pay us 3K for that $60 game that's now 10 bucks you downloaded or be met with a lawsuit!) which people are trying to get shut down because it's fucking extortion and may also actually transfer directly to a lawsuit on the rare occasion.
Depending upon how much of a chickenshit the ISP is, they might even tell you'll they'll cut you off if you don't comply with the notice. Although, I'd imagine that's never happened because how the fuck would they know since a file on your drives somewhere has nothing to do with your network? Obviously just talking big so they don't get sued too.
