How mature would you want a "mature" Pokemon game to be?
Assume they are making a separate mainline series in conjunction with the other games.
Let's Go is aimed largely at young children and hyper casuals
Current mainline aimed forever more at prepubescents and young teens
New series aimed at teens and young adults
With only this information to go on, what would you hope for and expect to see?
Who would you hope to develop it?

After growing up I realized what I want is subtle story, character development and lore. What I don‘t want is you are the chosen one go do everything. Only who did this right was 1 and 5. 5 was not you are the chosen one, but n saw you as equal. Zekrom didn‘t come out because it was you, but because it sensed reshiram. Same with alder, got anhilated and not steven stone like: oh you are a 10 year old that have 7 gymns? Go defeat this pokemon god.

I've long kicked around an idea for bit of a darker and edgier KANTOOO! game I've shared a bit before if anyone is curious.

But it's basically the one with Gen 1's story focusing more on how Giovanni has got seventy percent of Kanto by it's balls and wants to take the whole lower half even if it means chopping off everything from the waist up.

Outside of the story I had, like, shitloads of mechanic ideas. Maybe not so much mechanics, but the idea includes having Johto be part of post-game, turn Sevii islands into a Hoenn-connected sub-region, and a sub-region dedicated to Sinnoh mon as a sort of extended trail leading up to Mount Silver.

would you like to know more?

Something that you'd want aimed at you
Doesn't have to be super serious
Just has to treat you like an adult
Like, for example, no hand holding.
No pretending Pokemon eggs "mysteriously" appear.
Game Corners back.
People treating Pokemon like the legitimate threats the are.
Treating gangs and evil organizations seriously.
Considering the social ramifications of your pets being living weapons, etc.
Doesn't have to be grim dark.
Just something that doesn't pretend fucked up stuff wouldn't happen or something that doesn't go out of it's way to gloss over or hide that stuff.

Basic ideas are that for the last decade and a half, Giovanni's been pushing for massive development of the Kanto region with plans to push even into Johto, publically it's to match the beauty of Castelia and Lumiose, but in reality, it's about Giovanni expanding his control and influence both openly, in the underworld through Team Rocket, and even discreetly in his hold over several gym leaders.

You don't really HAVE to know any of this for most of the main game. All you see is that after some gym battles, Lance of the Elite four comes in and says he'd like the discuss some things in private with the Gym leader.

But if you sneak around into the backs of gyms and bother to read and pay attention carefully, you learn some things. Also a lot of this only gets spelled out in one of the multiple postgames since I wanted the 'main story quest' to focus on you becoming a pokemon champion and the post game about your responsibilities as champion.

But other post-game stuff includes exploring Johto Region and it's league (there'd have to be a story there, just not sure what) With a battle frontier of course.

Sevii Islands would be turned into a place you can catch Hoenn-mons.

And a new sub-region would be added to the north: The Mt. Silver Trail which expands on the original Mt. Silver massively to let you catch Sinnoh mons. In fact, at the very peak where Red is fought in HGSS, you would get a bigger view and could see lights of a town across a stretch of sea, the implication is that that you're looking at twinleaf town

And of course special quests to capture various legendaries. In particular I imagined with Mewtwo, after he escapes Team Rocket during that storyline's climax, you track him down to Cerulean cave and talk to him. You can battle him but he's level 99 and last time you fought him he just one-shotted every pokemon you sent out. And mastballs won't work here. You instead engage in a fail-able dialogue tree in which you convince Mewtwo there is good in humanity and the bonds they share with pokemon to mark how, as a trainer, you can win over pokemon even without fights now. At the end, if you suceed, Mewtwo will take you to why he went to Cerulean cave: Team Rocket was building more mewtwo, which he destroyed all but one and asks you to train the survivor and take them under your wing.

That's... a bulk of the story-stuff I had in mind.

Agreed. They need to go back to giving the mainline universal appeal, rather than making terrible game design choices. It can be a "kid's game" that adults enjoy, too. Doubt they would do anything too grim or lurid story-wise due to financial risks -- even a spin-off might be pushing it. A ROM hack might be the best option for someone wanting to do something different, just be careful how you approach it when going for something ambitious.

So it gets established you cannot beat him normally so it would seem odd you suddenly can beat him now.

So, basically that’s it: I hoped for something a little different and the idea of story consistency.

Mature enough just to allow itself certain contrasts to really appreciate what they mean by "Pokemon are our friends".
Currently, in the mainlines, the world and the wild are so nice to you, you don't really feel that mantra.
I would like a T-rated game where you, as a trainer, are accompanied by a partner Pokémon. You both can take hits in the wild.
Wild Pokemon can ambush you, and in response you can cover each other's backs if one of you gets too weak. In the case you protect your partner Pokémon in difficult times (such as being attacked in the wild by Pokémon strong against its type or being in the verge of fainting), it will truly appreciate you as a friend. If you don't do that, Pokémon will legitimally hate you to the point of becoming nearly unusable on battle because it will disobey every order you give it. More or less implementing the Anime, but doing it well.
As for the plot, I would like to have a non invasive one with lots of optional sidequests you can unlock by talking to the NPCs. I personally love conspiracy plots but I don't know how can you make them so they fit into the plot of a mainline game.
You can find the gym leaders somewhere in or out cities in their off hours and talk to them about what they think about their life, their family, their world and even give you life lessons, that sort of thing that Game Freak thinks "it's too complex for kids to understand".

TL;DR Not a grimdark game, just something that feels like tasting a cake after drinking a cup of coffee instead of a bunch of marshmallows.
